Is trauma-informed coaching right for you?
Why choose trauma-informed coaching? Therapy often focuses on conversations, cognitive approaches, and the past. Even after therapy, painful past experiences can manifest in our present lives as emotional triggers and recurring patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaviour.
As a trauma-informed coach, my approach is experiential. I emphasize helping you connect your mind (thoughts) with your body (feelings) and recognize behavior patterns holding you back. With this awareness and the tools I provide, you'll break unhelpful patterns, align with your authentic self, and build internal resources and emotional strength to navigate challenges and thrive.
In the Western world, emotions are often undervalued. Unquestioned conditioning can damage our bodies, relationships, and health. Experiences like bullying and injustice can be emotionally traumatic, altering your worldview and making it hard to reconnect with your former self. Unlike physical injuries, emotional pain isn't always visible, but negative emotions signal stored pain needing release. Societal values can cause shame around our human experience, leading us to hide our pain, which is counterproductive. By freeing ourselves from old stories, beliefs, and repressed emotions, we can change defensive responses, process emotions, and improve mental health and connections with others.
Having worked through my own emotions and trauma, I understand the impact of traumatic events and the importance of being trauma-informed as a coach. Recognizing signs of trauma early is crucial; had this happened to me, I might have avoided PTSD.
I leverage my insights from overcoming trauma to help you apply tools and strategies that work for you. You'll move beyond symptoms and confidently use learned tools and practices to tackle future challenges successfully.
